Rangitīkei Rivers Catchment Collective (RRCC) is a farmer-led group and incorporated society, established in 2017. We came together as a group of like-minded farmers with a shared goal to strengthen our collective voice, demonstrate our genuine commitment to caring for the environment, and inspire others in the farming community to do the same.
Our Vision
Resilient, thriving communities achieving positive environmental outcomes.
Our mission is to support catchment community groups through locally led, scientifically backed approaches that deliver meaningful environmental results.
We support sub-catchment groups through:
- Information: Acting as a two-way channel for sharing knowledge, scientific insights, and practical on-the-ground solutions
- Project support: Enabling grassroots, evidence based projects that enhance catchment health and resilience.
- Visibility: Raising awareness of catchment efforts, successes, and the science behind them.
Our Members
RRCC supports around 500 farming members organised into 24 sub-catchment groups across the Rangitīkei, Turakina, and Whangaehu river catchments.
RRCC is proud to support rural people living or working within the same river catchment area to come together around their shared interests in water, farming, and the environment–to share knowledge, offer mutual support, and collaborate, especially during challenging times.
By working together, we become stronger, more effective, and more resilient – building on individual efforts to create a united, supportive network.
Our Team
Our governance team, catchment coordinators, and catchment chairs are the driving force behind everything RRCC stands for. As a farmer-led collective, it is important that all committee members and sub-catchment chairs are active landowners and farmers from within the RRCC region.
